Queen Latifah

Dana Elaine Owens better known by her stage name Queen Latifah, is an American musician, actress, and rapper. The role of Queen Latifah in film, television as well as music has earned many prizes. These include the Golden Globe Award two Screen Actors Guild Awards Two Image Awards A Grammy Award Six additional Grammy Nominations Emmy Award Nomination and an Academy Award. Queen Latifah is a Newark New Jersey native. Her parents were Lancelot Sr., a policeman and Rita who was a instructor at Irvington High School. Latifah's parents divorced when she aged 10 years old. Latifah, who was born and was raised in Newark New Jersey attended Catholic schools in Newark. In her early twenties, her cousin gave Latifah the name of a stage Latifah that means gentle and loving in Arabic. Latifah is who was 5'10" tall forward on her high school team was always tall. In a school production, she performed the song Home from The Wiz. Latifah began to beatbox with the ladies fresh rap group. Latifah used to be a member of Flavor Unit - a group of rappers who joined by the producer DJ Mark the 45 King.
