Queen Latifah

Dana Elaine Owens, better called Queen Latifah in the US, is a performer and actress. Queen Latifah's performance in the fields of music, film and television has been recognized with a Golden Globe award two Screen Actors Guild Awards two Image Awards a Grammy Award and six more Grammy nominations and an Emmy Award nomination and an Academy Award nomination. Queen Latifah is an Newark New Jersey native. Her parents were Lancelot Sr. who was a policeman, as well as Rita who was a educator of Irvington High School. Latifahs parents split up after Latifah, then ten years aged, was 10 years old. Latifah was born and was raised within Newark New Jersey attended Catholic school in Newark. Latifah is her name for stage at the time she reached the age of eight. It means sensitive in Arabic. Latifah is an extremely tall girl of 5'10 inches who played part of the high school basketball squad. The song she sang was home from The Wiz at a school play.
