Winona-Ryder
Winona Laura Horowitz who is professionally known her real name as Winona Ryder is a native of Winona Minnesota. Her parents named their daughter the city she grew up in after her birthplace. Both her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder's father was born into the Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. Ryder has a younger brother Uria and half-siblings Jubal as well as Sunyata. Ryder moved with her family members to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. They didn't have electricity. No televisions would be the sole way to keep her busy and she was a voracious reader. Ryder started to take acting classes at the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983 at the age of 12. In 1986, she got her first role on the big screen in the film Lucas she was only 15 years old. Ryder suffered bullying in the high school. The hope was that the acting profession would improve her life. But, unfortunately, that didn't take place. It was a dream she pursued. Her big break was in 1988 when she appeared in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder continued to play successful roles in several movies. In 1993, she was nominated twice to win Academy Awards. One of which was for her character as a character in The Age of Innocence.
