Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine combines R&B, soul gospel and jazz in his signature style. From Broadway to European music festivals and clubs Avery Sunshine has been a hit across the globe. Sunshine, whose given name has been given as Denise White. Though she's located in Atlanta, her roots are in Chester Pennsylvania. There she was the first to begin pursuing an interest in music, singing and playing the piano at the church. Her musical career began in Atlanta while attending Spellman College. She took on the role of primary keyboardist at Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award-winning singer) approached her for an opportunity to be the choir conductor for Dreamgirls in Atlanta for the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine came to national interest during four consecutive shows at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was subsequently invited to sing at President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009.
